The Blades Short Track Speed Skating Club is a vibrant, community-focused sporting club based out of the Iceworld Olympic Ice Rink in Boondall, Queensland. Affiliated with Australian Ice Racing (AIR), and Queensland Ice Racing Association (QIRA) the club is dedicated to the high-speed, tactical sport of short-track speed skating. They cater to all ages and skill levels—running programs that stretch from “Nippers” (athletes under 8 years old) all the way up to “Masters” (skaters over 30).

The club primarily gathers on Sunday mornings for off-ice preparation and on-ice training sessions. Known for its welcoming atmosphere, Blades actively encourages newcomers by offering free “Come and Try” sessions, providing fresh skaters with specialized speed skates and the required safety gear to help them experience the thrill of racing flat out on the ice.
